I will dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
